‘WILCO THE WHALE’

This exciting new circus opera ‘Wilco The Whale’ was created for The New Avenue Online Arts Festival by our team comprising of local N’ham makers, The New Avenue Artists and our team of international creative professionals. This fun new show has been made as a an indoor and outdoor touring show for children. It features 3 musicians who are also singers, actors, instrumentalists and puppeteers!

‘BRIAN the butterfly’

This very fun (and quite silly) new one-puppet show, Brian The Butterfly was created by The New Avenue Artists in collaboration with composer Chloé Charody and puppet maker Izzy Hollis for the New Avenue Online Arts Festival. It features a giant Butterly made out of rubbish who sings and flies around showing off Its beard. It is designed to be an online puppet show. This online performance is performed entirely by The New Avenue Artists.

The stage production for this will be shown at a later date (we have run out of time!) but please enjoy reading the script written in collaboration between The New Avenue Artists, Chloé Charody & Duncan Townsend…

StreetWise Opera

Streetwise Opera is an opera company that enables people who’ve experienced homelessness to find inspiration and empowerment while they rebuild their lives and identities.

Nottingham Puppet Festival

Nottingham Puppet Festival is a partnership between the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall and City Arts Nottingham. First launched in 2018, the 2024 festival is their third event.

This city-wide, community-focused Festival is a celebration of puppets and people. Throughout each festival, we find a way to fill every corner of the city with puppetry performances from local, national and international artists. They commission new work, bring small and large-scale puppetry to the streets, and present workshops, talks and screenings from key figures in the puppetry world.
