‘Hymn of Beauty’ was composed by Chloé Charody in 2008. Inspired by the poetry of Charles Baudelaire, Charody composed ‘Hymn of Beauty’ as part of a set of 4 songs titled ‘The Baudelaire Songs for soprano’ based on the text by the great French poet.

‘Hymn of Beauty’ premiered in 2008 by Charody’s ensemble ‘Ilythian’, featuring soprano Simone Easthope, pianist Lindsay Gilroy and violinist Sonja Schebeck.  The work was later released on Charody’s album ‘Homage’ (MGM) in 2013.
